Sonya is an expert in Financial and Wealth Planning, she has her FINRA Series 7 & 66 licenses and 5+ years of experience at two of the world’s largest wealth management and wire houses.
Sonya is passionate about helping families and women in leveraging financial literacy to help meet their life goals. Your Nest Egg is a passion project based off of her thesis at Columbia University where she completed her Masters degree in Technology Management and now is an Associate Lecturer.
Sonya also graduated from the School of Nursing from Georgetown University with a BSc. in Health Administration and Policy. This is where she became aware about the need of financial planning during her externships where she worked with patient families on their cancer care financing and insurance billing.

I’ve been working in Financial Services my entire career and I found it incredibly funny: even investment bankers don’t know squat about goal planning…sorry LEO!
You see, it’s not about just buying stocks or getting in on the latest meme stock trend…wealth planning means understanding all the little buckets in your life that need to be filled and planned. Whether it’s your first wedding (we don’t judge), home or kid—goal planning is imperative in reaching your life needs.
What first originated as a female focused project, the pandemic really brought to light that most people and families don’t know what they are doing and help is relatively inaccessible. Trust me, I’ve worked with the type of client who gets access to a fancy financial advisor…and most of us aren’t in that bucket.
